Manual for VLV F3A Governor ESC

Rated continual current and burst current are for good heat dissipation. Please mount the ESC behind the air intake (2-5cm).
Please Remove propellers when you do all the ESC set up on your transmitter.

Transmitter set up
1. 1. ATV set up. For safety reasons, the input pulse width of this ESC is fixed to 1020us ~2020us, you may need to change the ATV for the throttle (motor) channel, for Futaba, you also need to reverse this channel. Check the normal operation below. PLEASE – REMOVE THE PROPELLERS!!!! Check all connections according to connect diagram, check your Transmitter, make sure your throttle stick is in the low throttle position, then connect the main battery pack, you will hear power-up music .
2. Throttle curves set up. for VLV contra, Defult setting is 100% throttle = 4400rpm, and its linear in all throttle range. example: 10%=440rpm, 50%=2200rpm and 90%=3960rpm, calculate the rpm you need and set the curve.
This ESC needs to set at least 2 different throttle curves to suit a normal F3A sequence. (RPM only an example for contra props set up, if you use a single-props motor, you may need a different RPM setting)
· One curve for normal flight, keep 1500~2000RPM when throttle stick full back (about 2/5 of throttle, this point will set your downline speed), 3000~3300RPM when throttle stick in the middle (this point will set your cruise speed for level flight).
· One curve for landing and spin, keep 100~300RPM when throttle stick full back (keep props spin but no thrust), 3000~3300RPM when throttle stick in the middle (this point will set your cruise speed for level flight).
· Set a motor kill switch, keep output pulse width less than 1020us when you flick the switch.
· Set Failsafe for throttle, keep output pulse width less than 1020us when lost signal.
Telemetry settings
● Warning, only connect black and white wire form the 4pin short connector to your receiver telemetry port. For Futaba, connect to sbus 2. For Jeti confige a EX bus for smart esc telemetry.
● For futaba, clean all telemetry sensors and add sensor Curr. F1678 in slot 1, RPM sensor in slot 4, Temp-F1713 in slot 6.
● For jeti, config EXbus for VLV gonvernor ESC telemetry, then you can find the smart ESC in your sensor.
More tips for this ESC
· Always keep throttle during F3A sequence fly, move your throttle stick smoothly to control your model speed, only go full back throttle on the vertical downline.
· Set your downline mix Master as throttle stick position, not throttle output, so your downline mix will work well even you have 2/5 throttle output in normal fly condition.
· Because of the powerful brake of this ESC, you need to keep throttle during the landing approach, use the stick continually to control your model speed, only go full back stick when your model touches the ground. If you cut the throttle when your model is still in the air, your model will stall immediately.
